Description

What a strange year it’s been, coming into spring, excited for rallies all summer, only to be halted by a worldwide pandemic. With spring and early summer rallies being cancelled or rescheduled left and right during the uncertainty of the spring months, the outlook on Vintage Torque Fest, typically held in spring, looked bleak. Luckily, it was rescheduled for 4th of July weekend, and what better way to celebrate 4th of July than with American V Twins? Read the Event Blog Post Here

Welcome to Ride and Rally with Fix My Hog. What's up everybody. I'm Nate Beck and you were watching Fix My Hog Ride and Rally 2020. There's finally a rally to be at. We are here at Vintage Torque Fest in Dubuque, Iowa. Home of tons of awesome vintage cars, antique cars, classic cars, and also antique and classic motorcycles. This is a Saturday and Sunday event that normally happens in May. It's been going on for years. It got rescheduled to 4th of July weekend. There's bands, there's races, there's awesome cars and awesome culture here. So we're going to walk you around with some of the stuff going on right now. What's up everybody And we're back from Vintage Torque Fest in Dubuque, Iowa. You know, these rallies are such a core part of our culture as motorcyclists that this year it's kind of changed quite a bit with the pandemic and everything getting canceled left and right throughout the spring and early summer. This rally actually, usually happens earlier in the year the April, May-ish time. And it got actually rescheduled twice and it ended up being on 4th of July. Something that I was really excited about because it was kind of the first year that I was going to be able to travel to a rally and not only be able to celebrate that but to celebrate it on 4th of July. And you know, to me, you know the 4th of July and motorcycles, that's just hand in hand. But what's so unique about this rally is that it's not only motorcycles. It's really celebrating all things vintage. They have vintage hot rods, vintage cars, even, you know providing the soundtrack to the rally with live bands. Playing rockabilly, dirt drags, flat tracks of both cars and bikes. The bikes there this year were awesome. I mean, we saw some Flatheads, Knuckleheads, my Shovelhead was in it. So, you know Vintage Torque Fest really takes the whole vintage aspect And, you know with a word that sometimes gets thrown around pretty lightly, they take it pretty seriously. And it's a really great rally to attend to. The first thing I pulled into town, I actually stopped at a diner for dinner and they said, you know, why are you here? And I went I'm here for Vintage Torque Fest and they go that's one of the best rallies in the Midwest. So if you ever get the chance to head down to Dubuque Iowa. It's a whole weekend, there's camping onsite. There's an awesome swap meet for hard to find parts. If you're looking for that kind of, those older parts for your bike or your car. I did see some old Panheads for sale. So if you're looking to pick up this is also one of the greatest places to do that. Check out Vintage Torque Fest online and let's check it out next year in person. So until next time, I'm Nate Beck you're watching Fix My Hog Ride and Rally 2020. Ride safe, wrench safe and we'll see you on the road.
