Softail Lowrider Exhaust Install
Steve KnobleDescription
First, he removes the stock exhaust system, showing where all the fasteners are and the locations of the electrical quick connects for the O2 sensors. Once everything is disconnected, Steve covers how to remove the one-piece head pipe from the engine.
Next he covers installation of new Softail Lowrider exhaust gaskets, how to swap over the snap rings and head pipe flanges, and then proper installation of the O2 sensors in the new head pipe. Once that is complete, he installs the new muffler bracket and then the new muffler. Finally, he covers installation of the heat shields that come with this system and torques everything to spec. It’s all wrapped up with a startup, to hear the new Softail Lowrider exhaust system.
Like many Fix My Hog projects, this can be completed by the average mechanic using readily available hand tools. With the info included in this video, anybody can complete this project in their garage or driveway.
