Description

There are a number of important areas to inspect when servicing the front end of your Harley Davidson Shovelhead. These include:
– Front tire pressure, condition, and age
– Front rim condition & spokes
– Front brake caliper, hoses, pads, and rotor conditions
– Front fender hardware

It’s important to inspect brake fluid condition and brake fluid level at every service. It’s also good practice to flush and bleed brake fluid at every major service or at least every two years.

Begin your front brake flush by removing the master cylinder top cover and sucking out the old fluid from the master cylinder. Replenish the master cylinder with fresh Dot 5 brake fluid and begin flushing the system. Replace the master cylinder top cover gasket if needed. Lastly, replace bleeder valves if worn, blocked or damaged.
