Hi I'm Bob LaRosa, welcome to Fix My Hog, I have a blacked out cross bones, the customer or the owner of the motorcycle wanted to just add a little more black contrast to what he's already done on his own. I went on denniskirk.com, punched in Roland Sands designs, came up with a beautiful line of products known as "The Clarity". What these are, machined, billet alum machined covers, with a Lexan window that allows a full view of the mechanics, the internals, of the twin cam engine in operation. The Lexan itself is installed at the factory, it's never meant to be removed or serviced, it is a highly polished, highly transparent area, you need to use caution when you install it and how you clean it and maintain it. The covers come in a chrome finish, they came in a contrast finish. Or they came in a set that we decided to purchase, the black ops. Outta the bunch these are the ones I prefer when you're going for an entire blacked out theme. As with all Roland Sands products, these are machined to perfection. They're designed engineered to fit, they're designed and engineered to be installed in conjunction with your factory service manual for a perfect fit, perfect lifetime operation. Most of his products come complete with replacement hardware where necessary. And it also comes with the necessary gaskets. Any time I'm inside a twin cam engine, especially when it comes to doing a nice clean upgrade like this, I'm gonna have the rockerbox area open, I'm gonna have the cam compartment area open. These two items when installed on the motorcycle are gonna look fantastic. I'm gonna make sure I drain my engine oil completely and put a clean fresh oil filter on. Fill it with clean oil. I wanna start out with a brand new oil change any time I open up the engine. Particularly when we're using the Roland Sands Clarity line because we want a nice clean oil so we can view the components through the windows, the Lexan windows built in to the aluminum component. Let's take a look at each individual product that we opted to purchase and we're gonna install. The Rockerbox covers, in the black ops clarity line you can see, they're a beautiful piece. There's no reason to touch any of the finish, you'll install this just the way it is wit the supplied gasket. Make sure the windows, the viewing windows, the Lexan portion of the box is cleaned inside and out before you install it. We're also gonna install the cam cover. And the same thing will apply. This billet aluminum piece, it looks like a piece of jewelry inside. There's no reason to touch or scuff any of the sealing surfaces. Lexan windows, you're gonna get a good clear view of the cam chain and the tensioners as it rotates while the engine's running. Clutch end cover, this is the cover that the cable feeds into for your clutch actuation. It's got a nice open window, depending on what type of transmission fluid you run, you'll be able to see fluid level and you'll be able to see fluid color for that matter. Also comes with the gasket and I highly recommend using the gasket supplied with the component. We're also gonna do the Derby cover. That again with clean primary fluid, you're gonna be able to see that clutch basket itself rotate from behind the cover. And we'll also install the Roland Sands Design Clarity air cleaner kit. With the Window cleaned from the inside you'll be able to see clear through the filter and see the throttle body in operation. In conjunction with all of Roland Sands Designs explicit instructions, always utilize the correct factory service manual, that applies not only to year, but model.
