Welcome to Ride and Rally I'm Dennis Santopietro founder of Fix My Hog and I'm here with Nate Beck, contributing editor for Fix My Hog. This, ah, gentleman is lucky enough to get out on the road a lot more than others which is super cool and we want to provide these videos to give a little more lifestyle, a little more riding and rallies and shows sneak peek into some of them for hogger members. And Nate so, you know, we got a couple of videos coming up. You went, ah, Duluth all the way over to up the border. Yep up over the border into Canada, riding international. Found out the hard way you can't film a border stop. You cannot film at the border. Check. Do not do that. Don't do that. Check that off. OK. Um, did new Orleans to Florida along the Gulf road there. Beautiful. Hitting some great bayou roads as well. Also rode in the Rockies from Denver over to Vail and then through Glenwood Springs which is still one of the most gorgeous rides I've ever done. And you went over Loveland Pass for that one. Yep. I also did Loveland Pass. And then on the way back I hit Independence Pass so I crossed the continental divide like three or four times on that road. So if you're going to do that, you know, that's great. And then Miami to Key West as well which was absolutely insane. Beautiful. Island hopping. And we talked about new Orleans. You did go to new Orleans? Yep, New Orleans. Yep and I'm actually going to head back there, ah, in next month and then do go the other way New Orleans over to Houston. Awesome. Living in the dream. Trying. Living the dream. [laughing] And the great part about this is, ah, last we spoke on camera anyways. Yep. You were just finishing welding school. Yep. You had a job at a aerospace. Yep, all is well at the aerospace military parts. You changed. Yep. You decided to open your own fabrication shop. Yep. Which is 5th Street Customs. Yep. So check that out. And so you do that. You're also involved with some other businesses. Yep. Um, and the cool part is when you travel for business, Yep. not like some people that travel who are in business, we go and try and get home. You're smarter and you take, you've been taking an extra day or two. Yep. And how does that work? Well, so the idea for for me kind of came when I was going to go to Florida. My buddy had a wedding there and I was going to Vail and I was just like, you know I had to get a car cause You were going to Colorado? Yeah, well, so I was going to Colorado, I was going to Vail. Uh huh. And I had to get from Denver to Vale and everyone's renting cars. Sure. And I was like why am I going to rent a car when I can rent a motorcycle? Yeah. And, ah, you know when you go to a wedding there's often a lot of downtime for guests. Right. So I just rented a, I just rented a, a new Harley Low Rider, and then just turn it into a trip. And I was like, well, you know, there's oftentimes on business trips where you have an afternoon or a day or it's easy to tack on a day because you're already there. Right. You know, the company's paying for flights and stuff like that so why not rent a motorcycle instead of a car? So. And it's cool because you've also, when you do that, you get to ride different motorcycles, right? Oh, absolutely! So you own a Sportster. Yep. Um, and the cool thing about renting a bike for a day for a nominal fee, you can ride a motorcycle that you're thinking of buying. Oh, absolutely. And really, riding, see if your want, if you like it after a day in the saddle. Absolutely. It's different when you go on a demo ride and they take you for a mile loop and you're like, Oh wow, that's cool. Everything feels great for a mile! Right, exactly but a hundred miles is a lot different. Yep. And you get to ride the newest bikes. Yep. Ah, be at the Milwaukee, it's off trail, the Milwaukee, the touring side. Yep. So that's it. It's just such a great way to do it. Absolutely, yeah. And you've been going to some shows too. Floris which is cool. And Mama Tried look awesome. Yeah. Mama Tried is a chopper show for those of you that don't know out in Milwaukee. And it's been, this was the sixth year and each year it's just bigger and better. And that the amount of talent, different bikes there, is absolutely insane. Right. Um, as well as Donnie Smith here in the twin cities That's right. which is also crazy every year. Very cool. Very cool. Well you got some great stuff coming up for us and hopefully, ah, you'll be coming out to my way. We can do San Diego to San Fran up the up the One. That would be insane. That would be cool. It's one of the best rides I've ever done. Yep. And if we can do that, that'd be cool. That'd be killer. So stay tuned, check out more of Ride and Rally with Fix My Hog and Nate Beck And hopefully I'll even get out on a bike once in awhile. Thanks so much. And we'll see you soon. Wrench safe.
