Intake Leak Test
Steve KnobleDescription
In this video, Steve Knoble demonstrates the proper technique for using a standard propane torch to locate an intake leak on an engine. Intake leaks can massively affect your motorcycle’s performance, fuel consumption, and reliability. This is because a fluctuating amount of air coming into the engine can confuse the fuel injection sensors and make the bike run erratic, or if it is carbureted, the intake leak can make the bike run out of tune for the jetting, and cause the engine to misfire or die. If your bike randomly runs rough at idle, or hesitates on acceleration, it may have an intake leak. With the propane exhaust leak test, you will be able to fix that problem.
