Replacing the rear brake fluid switch on a 2012 Sportster Iron XL 883N is a simple procedure that requires limited tools. Front and rear brake systems have their own brake fluid switches, so it is important to make sure each switch is working correctly. On 87–03 Sportsters, the rear brake fluid switch is mounted on the brake line behind the exhaust, on the right side of the motorcycle. From 04–up, the switch is mounted on the left side of the bike, below the battery.
