Description

Join Steve Knoble for an exclusive FMH GOLD member event. Custom parts are a key way to make your bike stand out from the rest of the motorcycles. In this video, Steve gets into the process of making passenger peg mounts that have extra strength, so they will double as crash protection for the saddle bags on the Lowrider ST. Not only do they have crash protection, but Steve uses BMX pegs for the passenger’s foot rest. This gives the bike a unique look, and a nod to the love of all things two wheeled.

Steve goes over each step of the process from acquiring the raw materials, then how to determine measurements, the entire process for laying out the hole location on the raw material, and then off to his community motorcycle garage for the fabrication process. Finally, Steve completes the installation of the mounts on to the M8 Softail Lowrider ST.

During the machining process Steve covers the basics of the operation of a lathe, and a few tips along the way to help insure you get a quality part at the end. Also, he touches on a few safety tips to make sure your eyeballs and limbs are still intact after running a lathe. This whole project is completed on a 2022 Harley M8 Softail Lowrider ST FLXRST, and all the machining is done at Skidmark Garage in Cleveland Ohio.
