What's up everybody I'm Nate Beck, I'm from Fix My Hog here and we have AJ from Amarillo, Texas. His bike, Bad Medicine has been turning some heads on Garage Build, AJ how are you doing today? Pretty good. Awesome so how did you originally hear about Garage Build? I was actually learning how to use Instagram and I think it was 1908 Magazine started following my post on my build from the beginning and then I found it all on Facebook and took it from there. Awesome, well I was taking a look at your bike and the story behind it. It was actually pretty amazing that it really was birthed from an accident that you had, do you wanna tell us a little bit more about that? Yeah, actually I had purchased my first Sportster was a 2015 iron 883. Sure. I've always had big twins before that, had a couple of Road Kings, FXR and a fat boy and I had just gone through a divorce and figured I just wanted something to play around with and it was kind of weird I just watched that movie "21 Days Under The Sky" The best chopper movie ever. And how they. Yeah, man so from there it was just, I wanted to do something but this one I had bought from the dealership so there wasn't too much I could do to it. I think this is the picture of, what it was before, when I went down on it. Sure. So from there, after I had, was recuperating from breaking my leg, from that accident, I just figured I would want to build my next one, after the inspiration from that movie and I just took it from there, day by day. I was in, bedridden for 23 hours a day and I'd get up for about an hour to use a bathroom and stuff like that so. Sure. While I was doing that I would just Google every video I could on how to build a barber chopper kind of build and from there, I just took on I just emerged myself with everything I could in rebuilding the motor, wiring, I had so much time on my hands just laying around I indulged it with all the information I could. That's awesome. Well, let's take a look at Bad Medicine, do you have it there with you? Yeah. Let's see, how do I flip this video? I guess I'll just do it like this. So basically from the front I've hand shaved the forks by myself. Got some aftermarket brakes for the front and the back. I lowered the headlight and actually used a framing S bracket from Home Depot to do that. Nice. I made my own a tank lift, these are actually a rails from a, what's it called, the tracks from garage. Okay. TC Brothers air cleaner. Actually made my own hose for the return on these so that way we use the filter for a catch can. Yup. I did all the paint myself. Nice. Made me a homemade reserve tank, gas tank. And this part right here this was actually off of my 2015 that was left over. This is a 95. So it has a battery behind here, and all I did was cut it and fit it to where I needed it. Made a little spot for a little knife and then basically rewired everything so that way I could start it from here. That's awesome, I think that I was looking at your profile at Garage Build. Yeah, there you go. And that's what really I thought was really cool was you took that part from your old bike and made it on this one. And really, I don't, I have a 2015 Sportster in my garage as well and I've never seen moving your ignition to that area and I think that was like, that's what for me set your bike apart. Yeah and that was actually, I was looking for a push button kind of technique and seeing how everybody was doing them. Sure. And I know they had the ones for the cylinder, the cylinoid and stuff like that. And then I guess TC Brothers had the hidden ones you can move, off the bars but I found this one and figured I'd do what I can to make it my own and then kind of did a little cool graphics into it. Nice, yeah that's what it's all about. So is this bike done or what are we doing next? Actually, now I got me a hard tail. This is a Caltech frame. I did the same thing. I got progression, suspension and the tubes, shaved the forks on these ones also. Right now I'm polishing all the aluminum for it. Sure. Before I put it back in I figured this one I would take my time a little bit on it and do something nice so that way I could probably take it to Born Free next year. Oh, sure so are you gonna be uploading this one to Garage Build as well? I don't know. I'm still trying to get everything taken care of so-- Sure. I don't know how far along it's gonna take me. I figured this one's gonna take me a lot longer since I'm gonna do my due diligence with it. Sure. Very cool well man, that's a killer looking bike. Thank you so much for posting up and taking some time here to talk to us about it, man.
