In this unboxing video lesson and rundown of the Arnott Ultimate Air Ride Kit, we go through the unboxing and details of the kit for the 2008 Dyna Street Bob. In the video, Steve covers what all the parts are and what they do. Then he explains what separates the Arnott product from the competition by showing the key features of the Arnott kit and then explains why it is such a superior product.

Shocks are an often overlooked upgrade to your motorcycle. The stock setup works, but there is a lot of room for improvement. The Arnott system allows you to tune your shocks to your desired ride height, riding style and load, all while riding. This is done with the handlebar mounted controls and the onboard air compressor that is included in the kit. Once you ride with a setup like the Arnott suspension, there is no going back.

This is truly a five star kit from Arnott. Everything mounted up as it should, with no unnecessary modifications or struggles. Their step-by-step instructions are easy to follow and make installation go smoothly. Also, they support their product with great customer service, so they are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hey, welcome to Fix My Hog. My name's Steve Knoble. What we're doing today is we're gonna do an unboxing and a look over of the Arnott Ultimate Ride Kit Package Shocks for a '07 and up Dyna. I believe the model number for this kit is MC3100. It's a really cool kit from Arnott.

They make great stuff. Everything's made here in the States, a very versatile product. So let's take a look what they offer here. All right, see what we have going on here. So first, we open up the shock box, in here, obviously we have our instructions.

Here we have the highlight of the tour, the actual shocks themselves. Arnott sells a really great product. These shocks are made by Fox. It's made out of 60/61 aluminum, as you can see, nice strong structural design here. It's all machine together.

Got our adjustable rebound dampening right up here. Ports for our fittings, everything. Really nice pivot points on there. Nice solid fit. Should be a really solid, very good looking product.

Let's check the other shock out while we're at it. There is the other shock. Looks like just as great of a product. Got a rubber dampening system up inside there. So, we'll set this box out of the way.

This is our hardware kit that comes with every shock kit or Ultimate Ride Kit. Nylon tubing for the air lines of course, got our fittings right there. It looks like it might even have a few extras or at least one extra fitting. It was very nice of them. O-ring fittings and all that.

So, put that together. And our wiring accessory kit here, looks like have all the wiring we may need. Plus all the crimp connectors we may need. New O-rings and beauty cap covers for all the hardware mounts. Brackets for everything.

Spacers for the top shock mounts. Pull some of the packing material up out of here a little bit. Of course, got our handlebar switcher here, we'll pull this out of the package. Even got some zip ties and electrical connectors. So we'll take a look at that.

That's gonna be our handlebar switch right there. Really nice set up. Looks like gloss black finish on there. It looks like a really nice clean product. It'll look really good on the bike.

Have our main power assemble here, with our fuse holder. A main control relay. Highlight of the tour here. And here we have the air compressor and bracket. Let's take this out Take a quick look at this.

This is the actual compressor that'll mount around the front of the engine. This is what actually powers the air shocks. Of course here, we have some more tubing for the air shocks themselves. Got some wire loom, split loom cover there. All the wires will go in.

The directional valve that actually controls whether or not the air goes up or down. Of course, the main hardware for the shocks. And last but not least, zip ties to help hold everything in place. And of course, detailed instructions. They're easy to follow that come along with the kit.

So everything's broke down, step-by-step in here. So even your average mechanic can knock this out. All right, first thing, let's take a look at why we're upgrading. Stock shocks, I have a stock one off a Dyna here. Stock shocks are, they're really kind of subpar.

They're at a price point that was made for the motorcycle, to keep the new price down, and they're very functional and they do work. You know, they're okay for a 50 mile an hour cruise down a smooth road, but with bigger bumps, heavier loads, sport riding, any similar things like that, you're gonna find the stock shocks are a little inadequate. Suspension is one of the most useful upgrades you can make to a motorcycle. Once you have a bike with upgraded suspension, there's no going back. As for the Dyna, this Arnott Kit is really a top shelf item.

Arnott has 30 years of air suspension experience. They're made in the USA. Their products use patented True Air Suspension Technology. So this compressor powers everything, so adjustments can be made on the fly. All of that is done by handlebar control, that allows you to fine tune your load, fine tune for load, riding style, or ride height, all while you're riding down the road.

In addition of the cool things like handlebar controls, right there, these shocks have a mono tube design. They have flexible dis valving inside them with velocity sensitive dampening. And that's all in here in the lower section of the shock. Plus there's a manually adjustable rebound to accommodate for riding passengers, solo, or with luggage. So if you need to make a tweaks on the fly to adjust how the dampening works, you can turn this little thumb screw here.

I believe it's an 11 position thumbscrew and, you know, make it to adjustments to whatever you need for your situation. All right. So what separates Arnott from all the others? Arnott shocks, they're not just engineered for motorcycles, but they're made for your year, make, and model of bike. So no universal fit stuff, no guesswork involved.

They should bolt right up to your bike and everything should work as designed. And this is important because even a slight change in shock location, change in your suspension geometry, anything like that can drastically affect the ride, and how your motorcycle handles. So model year specific is very important. Let's take a look at the frame of the shock. These Arnott Shocks, they're machined, even the top eyelet.

It's all machined out of 60/61 aircraft grade aluminum. And that's really good. So not only do you get a very clean appearing shock, but this is a very strong well-made shock. Your stock ones, are just an eyelet welded onto the end of a shaft here. Now, a lot of your aftermarket ones are even a little bit less than this.

There'll be thinner wall stuff, sometimes even chintzier weld. It's really just a modified automotive style shock on the stock ones, and especially a lot of the aftermarket ones. Now Arnott products feature True Air Technology. This combines custom valve shock with multiply air sleeves. All that's up in here.

It's a patent pending process for them, but all that makes it a true air suspension, not just an air assist or a modifying air cylinder. That makes for a very strong and reliable shock, that should last for a very long time. Right now, the Arnott shocks, they have an internal bump stop on them. It's a very well engineered bump stop. And the idea behind it is it will absorb the impact, if you hit a pothole large enough that your suspension bottoms out.

That keeps all that extra force from being transferred up into your shock mounts, the frame of your motorcycle, or even your spine. So now also too, with that bump stop and all the engineering designed in there, you would be able to use the full three inches suspension or three inches of suspension that's on here. And then even with the air shocks completely drained, and everything bottomed out, your rear tire will not rub on your fender. So if for some reason you have the system all the way aired down and you try and ride off, the tire won't rub, there won't be any binding, and you'll be able to just ride off as a functioning motorcycle, just without rear suspension. Now Arnott Shocks also come with a nice brass fitting that gets threaded in here, which is good because some of the competition, they come with a plastic fitting, and you want to have a well-made quality brass fitting in here, because you don't want it to snap off at the worst possible time.

And a plastic fitting would be a lot more prone to snap off of there. So good fittings mean reliable operation for a long period of time. Now, many companies out there build a shock with a twin tube design. That's kind of the older design. A lot of companies still do it.

It's a very good price point way to do it, but Arnott uses a mono tube design. That means it keeps all the internal oil from foaming. And because when your internal oil on your shock foams, that means you basically lose your dampening. It's kind of like having air in your brake system. So if it doesn't foam, that's going to give you a consistent performance out of your shock, no matter the load on your motorcycle, or the road conditions, or how you're riding on it.

So mono tube design is definitely a massive upgrade. And of course, these shocks are made by Fox. So, you know, it's a quality product. They're very well known in the industry. Right now, we have the compressor here.

This comes a application specific bracket, should bolt right on your motorcycle. Again, no universal fit stuff. Very high power compressor, very well-made should be nice, reliable product to last a long time. And of course all that is controlled by a handlebar switch here. So you'll be able to air up or air down, based on your riding conditions, the load on your motorcycle, or even air down in a parking lot, so what we can have a more secure footing for maneuverability and you know, handling over possible rough terrain in a parking lot.

Now, of course, every kit comes with instructions. They're very detailed, great color photos, very easy to follow. So even your average wrench can jump in, and make this install themselves with minimal hand tools or even minimal experience. So it's a very good product. Everybody can use this no matter what you're wrenching experience is.

All right, that's all I have for you today for the unboxing of the Arnott product. As you can see, it's a really cool product, really great stuff, all made here in the States. Looking forward to do the install of this. Now the installation video will be a premium video, located here on Fix My Hog. So that's all I have for you today.
