1953 Servi-Car
Kevin BaasDescription
Crazy Carl. No, how you doing, buddy? Good to see you. Looks like you got yourself a project here. Yeah, we picked this up.
It's a 45 cubic games, Uh, the guy bought it in Florida, brought it back to Mankato Minnesota where he lives and he assembled the whole thing and I haven't done nothing to. It. Puts around with a little bit. I think it's got an intake leak and I can see bubbles coming out where the oil is there out of the head gasket loading out of the trailer, the clutch kind of slipped a little bit. Nick bearings are a little funny.
There's a lot of work that needs to get done with it, but I haven't done nothing to it basically, but put gas in it, put oil in it and drive it to the hardware store. So looking at this, you basically probably want me to go through, give it the full check, do the service manual updates and then fix any of the issues we find that's wrong with it. Make it a good run motorcycle for you. Yeah, just for a little bit until I can, it needs wiring and things like that. But, you know, that's all time.
Ok. Well, let's get it off the trailer and we'll get it in the shop and we'll see what you need done. Well, it sounds like she runs pretty good. I didn't notice he had a kicker arm. Looks like she kind of hangs down to a little bit.
We'll figure that out. But, uh, yeah, little intake leaks, uh, head gasket repaired and get that clutch fixed up. But, uh, I noticed you got electric start on this one. That's pretty cool. What's the story on that?
Well, that's why I'm not worried about the kicker pedal. You can fix that if you wanna, you know, firmer, wired it up. But, uh, because these were starting stop so much and they're so hard to kick start with the, with the box in the back that a lot of these hardly came up with a conversion kit for electric starts. So years ago they fit all the way to, for near present time when they quit making these survey cars. Uh, it's actually got the factory, uh, primary inner and outer end for the starter thing was on there and that's kind of what sold it to me and the box is still not rotted out and caved in like you usually see them.
So I had a lot to work with. Yep. No, that's a great, great foundation. You have yourself a nice bike here. So.
Well, let's get it in the shop and then, uh, we can get going on it. Ok. Sounds good. All right.
