Inner, outer fairing assembly seems to develop quite a bit of movement and shaking. Any time you have the outer fairing off, it's a good idea to inspect the hard 90-degree bend, which creates quite a stress riser, on the upper fairing mount brackets and also the speaker mount brackets. There's one on each side. We've seen a multitude of these break directly at the stress riser. They're not an easy piece to replace, but they definitely cause a lot of excessive vibration when they are broken.
Any time the outer fairing's off, take a moment, clean up any dust, debris. Inspect all your wiring connections, all your mounting points, and also all the mounts which hold the inner fairing to the frame and the upper fork on your Ultra model.
After I watched this video I was convinced the reason my CD player skips was those brackets. But to my surprise they are not broken. It only skips when it's running. Any suggestions you can give me? Thanks, Bob
