“Bob, I am trying to locate the rear Y exhaust pipe for my H.D I have the original mufflers that are OEM for that year and exhaust. The only way I can explain this is to tell you in a short but to the point manor. At the end of the mufflers they have a circular ring that fit into the y pipe its self that has the same circular ring. A small exhaust gasket goes between the two and a clamp with the place for the two ring groves connects them for a tight joint fit. The Paco pipes have the complete exhaust system but for a very high price, all I need is the Y exhaust pipe and along with the Y pipe I need the curved pipe for the drivers (L) side that curves along the outer primary with the grove at the end that I am looking for, and the right foot side that the Y pipe fits into the front cylinder exhaust pipe that disconnects from the Y pipe. Is there any inserts that have that grove ring that can be inserted, welded, compressed into the pipe that will work without lengthens the pipe that in turn extends the mufflers past the upper fastener connections that are above the rear hard bags, I am trying to stay with the stock length. I have 4 sets of these mufflers that I paid quite a bit for and they are just sitting in the original boxes. 2 pairs of the 4 are hookers, 1 pair of fishtails, 1 pair of turn downs and 1 pair of Pig pipes and of course the 4, 1pair are the originals. Can you help me I have tried for a few years now and I am coming up empty.” “Bob, I have a pair of Hooker long shot (shotgun) exhaust that’s for a 1988 FXSTC with a 1340 Evolution Motor. Anyway, I am wanting to install them on my 1991 FLHTCU with a 1340 Evolution Motor. The 2 problems that I am having is that the front cylinder pipe is hard to connect as the bend in the pipe is not quite correct as it fits but as the pipe goes downward it fits tight just between the front break mount forward control. As far as I know that’s a welded fixture and there is no way to lower it, if there is I would like to know. I can weld but I am not proficient at it. The 2nd problem is that the rear exhaust of the Hooker pipe fits very tight up against the batter tray and the fixture for the hard bag mount. Is there any way I can allow the pipe to fit hard up against the fixture and I also have to weld the fastener tabs to the pipe to all it to fasten with the stock pipe fastener area. I really like these pipes and of course Hooker no longer makes any Harley Davidson exhaust systems.”

You should still be able to purchase a Y pipe and cross over pipe from HD. If somthing is obsolete from the dealer, try V Twin or a swap meet. The exhaust from your 1988 FX is not intended for a touring model. If you are hell bent on making that fit; You have a lot of fabricating ahead. Need to consider if it is worth your time & effort.

I have a 2015 TriGlide, a rocker arm broke at just under 7,000 miles. Why would this happen??? Poor quality at the mfg plant?? It was fixed under warranty, but it seems to me the bike does not run as strong as it should. Are there any other problems I need to be watching for? Is it really possible to fix the engine back to new condition? I think Harley should give me a new engine, am I wrong to feel this way? I paid a LOT of money, and at this stage I don't think I got what I paid for. Can you please help? Thank you.
