I have a problem with the clutch. When the bike is off, but in gear, I squeeze and hold the clutch lever in but the bike doesn’t roll because of gear is on and squeezing clutch lever doesn’t make a difference. When the bike is on everything seems to be okay, bike rolls on gear when clutch lever is in and starts drive when I release the clutch lever. I’m sorry for my English, I hope you understand what I’m talking about. Thank you for help.

I have a 2005 883L sportster, clutch seems to stiff need to see how to adjust clutch cable.
I have found a "sticking clutch " is caused by the clutch basket has groves worn in where the clutch plates go. If groves are wide enough the plates can to slide out when the lever is pulled in.
I have that same sticking clutch problem that when I pull the clutch in and try to roll the bike it is hard. If it's in neutral, it rolls easily. Also, when riding, I can shift gears by just touching the clutch lever? But, need to pull it in some to downshift? It also requires some strength to pull it in? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill (TGO)
