Sintered or Organic Pads

Question for Fix My Hog I’m ready to R/R my brake pads. Are the factory pads organic type or sintered? I had a bad experience with another bike when I used sintered pads, it ate into the rotor pretty deep. Which can I use with my stock rotors on my FXDC? Via Email
Fix My Hog Answers Your stock pads should have been sintered. It is fine to change to organic with your stock rotors. The organic pads are softer and will break in better on an already broken in rotor. I would highly recommend sticking with the stock H-D pads. They are the best I've used for lifespan and stopping power. I've had horrible results in the past with EBC organic pads. Didn't seem to last very long.
