LED in Rear Blinkers

Question for Fix My Hog Hi, I put LED boards in the rear blinkers on my ’99 Ultra. However, I can’t get them to blink, which I’m sure is due to the flasher—correct?

Fix My Hog Answers You may need to add a load equalizer in line with your rear turn signal wiring harness for those LEDs to function. Would be best to contact the manufacturer of the LEDs. Have them advise you on which load equalizer they suggest. Or purchase a Badlands load equalizer for your make & model. It will be simple, plug & play.

I installed LEDs on both front and rear risen signals. No sure of the brand name but they came with directions to ‘program’ the BCM to recognize the odd load by leaving the hazard switch for a few minutes (no exactly sure of the procedure now). Before following the directions (it’s what we guys do) I started the bike and the idle was off key running faster than normal, just a funky situation. After following the directions every thing was fine.

I have a "16 Ultra Limited Low with LED's all the way around; Headlight, turn signals (front and back), bag lights and Tour pack. All have been plug n play with no equalizer required. They are Custom Dynamics brand. They all work as supposed to as blinkers and running lights. Call manufacturer with your issue for best results.

On this subject, if you have the load equipment for the rear, will/can it control the front also, having LED light bar on down tubes, as well as LED combo rear tail light/signals?
