I’m riding a 2006 Road King custom with an 88 cubic in engine with a HD carburetor. It’s sluggish and I have problems just getting to speed limit of 80 Mph. I replaced the air filter and that helped a bit but still not enough. Can you help me?

Thanks for the email. Did you rebuild the carb yet?

Hogger Reply: I had a mechanic open the carburetor to find that one of the jets had been replaced and that the carburetor diagram was perforated because it had been reassembled incorrectly. It was pinched between the matching faces. It runs great since then.

i see the tech on forward controls for modern Sportster, what are your ideas on upgrading 1975 Sportster? the ones on the bike are worse than original and home-made have been next step. they seem pretty expensive, way higher than for any other model by far...
Go get you a Mukini 42 kit..I had the same problem on my 94 Sporty 1200..ran sluggish in stock form..now it runs like a bat outta hell..
