Harley Hydraulic Clutch Adjustment

QuestionHow do you adjust the Harley hydraulic clutch on an Ultra Classic 2013? Also, on a 2014 limited with a hydraulic clutch, do you still have to adjust the clutch pack. If so what is the best way?

AnswerLike the primary chain adjustment on older models, clutch adjustment has gone away. No adjustment is needed for this hydraulic clutch.

July 28, 2016 – Harley-Davidson has issued a recall on 27,232 model year 2016 motorcycles. In the affected motorcycles, the clutch master cylinder may lose the ability to generate enough lift to disengage the clutch, especially if the motorcycle has been parked for an extended period of time. When the engine is running and the motorcycle is in gear, if the clutch cannot be fully disengaged, the motorcycle may move unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

The affected motorcycles include certain model year 2016 Electric Glide Ultra Classic (FLHTCU), Electra Glide Ultra Classic Low (FLHTCUL), Ultra Limited Low (FLHTKL), Ultra Limited (FLHTK), CVO Street Glide (FLHXSE), Street Glide (FLHX), Street Glide Special (FLHXS), Road Glide Special (FLTRXS), Road Glide (FLTRX), Police Electra Glide (FLHTP), Road Glide Ultra (FLTRU), Fat Boy S (FLSTFBS), Softail Slim S (FLSS), and CVO Softail Pro Street Breakout (FXSE) motorcycles.

Harley-Davidson will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the clutch master cylinder for the presence of gas in the fluid, if so, the dealer will flush the clutch system and rebuild the clutch master cylinder, free of charge. The recall began July 25, 2016. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 800/258-2464. Harley-Davidson’s number for this recall is 0169.

I just installed the 1275 springs in my 2020 Roadglide. Torqued the three screws to 90 inch pounds and now the clutch lever wont move, I know now I should of replaced the springs one at a time. What would of moved and more importantly what is the fix? If I loosen the bolts the lever works fine. I have pulled the primary off and removed the clutch packs, reinserted them and still the lever will not move.

2014 ultra classic. I replaced the clutch and bled the hydraulic fluid. Bike starts in neutral but when I squeeze clutch lever and drop it in gear the bike jerks forward with the clutch lever still depressed. Any idea why?

<strong>NB Ticket 17426 I have a 2009 CVO Springer. I can't put it in neutral while it's running. Would it require a clutch adjustment with only 3,000 miles on it?

I have a 2017 ultra limited and i often have a problem getting to first gear fromhigher gears when i come to a stop quickly. If a light changes and i stop before i can downshift each gear while rolling, i have to re engage the motor to be able to downshift. What is the cause of this and how do i fix it?
