Hard to Up-Shift with the Front Controls

Question for Fix My Hog Can I shorten the shift linkage on my 2009 Harley Dyna Super Glide Custom FXDC? It’s hard to up-shift with the front controls. I just need a little more leverage to shift comfortably. I’m trying to keep the cost under $100, no need for complete shift kit.

Fix My Hog Answers There should not be a need to shorten your shift linkage. Try to up-shift when the motorcycle is not running. If it shifts easily, the issue is not with the linkage. It is a clutch issue and you should begin with a clutch adjustment. Also, make sure that the transmission shift arm is not loose on the shift pawl shaft.
