Bike Bogs Down

Question for Fix My Hog I have a 2003 Dyna Superglide. My problem is that when I hit the throttle, it tends to choke sometimes. Also what do you recommend to do if you have not ridden a bike for 7 months?

Fix My Hog Answers If you haven’t ridden for a while, make sure you are starting off with fresh fuel. At least 93 octane pump gas.
If your throttle response is not good, check for an intake leak; or, your carb may be due to be cleaned.

I had a similar issues on a ‘92 Heritage Classic. The carb jet needed cleaning.

I had a similar problem with my 2001 Heritage and fixed it by replacing the fuel filter.

Use the manufacturers recommended fuel octane for your particular engine motorcycle. Engine compression ratio determines the octane requirements of a particular engine. Higher octane fuel requires an engine with a higher compression ratio to combust and run properly.
