Welcome to Fix My Hog. I'm Bob LaRosa. I wanna show you a great product from Loctite, the Insulating and Sealing Wrap. It's a tape like, consistency, but it's not sticky. It's actually self fusing as you wrap it around, and I typically like to wrap it around covering itself about two thirds. When you wrap it around correctly, it actually has a cure time. After 24 hours, it's fully seated. It fuses to itself. It is UV resistant, it's salt, water resistant, it's corrosion resistant, when wrapped correctly. Let's see for a temporary repair on a radiator hose, it is water resistant and when utilized correctly it can also be air resistant. It'll make something airtight. Tonight's easy product to use. You just peel back the clear outer liner, and you use it like you would any tape, get it started and wrap it around. The key with this Insulating and Sealing Wrap, is that it wraps upon itself, by overlaying itself. It's self fusing, there is no adhesion, it is not sticky. It actually has a 700 pound tensile strength. so you can see you're going to wrap this stuff, if you wrap it good and tight. Again, back to an emergency radiator hose repair. You wrap that around itself good and tight. And I mean, you can put it into service right away, but after 24 hours, the full fusion process takes effect. You can barely get the support now, and I just stuck it to itself, so it's really sealing it as you wrap it. Works great if there's handles missing on just about anything on a jumper cable. Peel back the liner, give the handle a nice clean wrap, always trying to overlap about a half, about two thirds of the width of the material you're working with. And always make sure it ends up fusing to itself. At that point it creates a nice wrap, nice insulation on it. It's very, very temperature resistant. It's good anywhere from about 65 below to about 500 degrees. And the wrap comes in both colors you'll need, for jumper cable repair or any other type of wire repair, comes in red and also black. Again, the key is to get a nice tight wrap, don't be afraid to pull on it. It does have a high tensile strength, and always make sure it overlaps upon itself. It's by allowing it to overlap, that gives the Insulating Wrap the self fusing properties. You do that the same on the black. Another nice area, is if the installation, on a heavy cable is missing completely. Now it's gonna to take you a few wraps to build up, so you've got the entire dimension of the wrap. And as with any tape, I myself prefer not to try to tear it. I would much rather cut it clean, and like with any other tape, the installation is typical. Cut yourself a nice piece. This tape here, you need to make sure that it self fuses upon itself. Nice clean wrap going, but it jumped down to the area where the insulation is actually completely missed, and just keep wrapping it upon itself. Cover half the width of the tape, half to two thirds is always a safe bet. You cover about two thirds of this, pretty much count on it. You can put it on a crusher on one of the airlines. If you happen to have a hole in an airline, you need a temporary repair for the day, I pretty much guarantee that, this will seal and hold the air pressure. At this point, this breach in the insulation is sealed. But you wanna make a couple more wraps, just to build up, so dimensionally it's the same. Another great usage for this particular Insulating and Sealing Wrap, you can put it around components, keep them from vibrating against each other. The lifespan of this, the outer surface of the tape, very corrosion resistant, very, very scratch resistant. The other place I found myself using this Insulating Wrap from Loctite, on free ends of ropes. Instead of having to Burn them and wind up with toxic fumes, and the end of the rope just looks horrible. It's the same thing, I get a nice clean wrap, on this rope i like to get the first wrap right on itself. It gives you a nice square starting point, and wrap it around good and tight, and do the same thing. You can see I'm really stretching this out tight, and end overlapping it 100%, so you've got a square round on each end. Again, this stuff is salt, water resistant. You can use it for all kinds of Marine applications. And one last thing I want to show you, we'll head to a motorcycle, the cables, very common. They get chafed just from the vibration of, the battery in the battery box, or within the oil tank on a soft tail. So you wanna make sure those cables, can't ground out or short out. This block tight sealing and insulating wrap, the perfect fix for any issues, on the Harley Davidson motorcycle, when it comes to any electrical component especially the battery cables. I've already showed you a few uses for Loctite, Insulating and Sealing Multi-purpose Wrap on the bench. Here's one of my favorites. Anytime, any type of tape is in play, once the environment gets up under the end and wants to peel it back. I'm gonna remove this tape and replace it with, a piece of the Loctite Insulating and Sealing wrap. Again, it's as easy as just removing the outer liner, cut yourself a nice clean length, and just make sure when you start your wrap, it's on a nice clean surface, and you just wrap it on itself. You can pull it nice and tight, you don't have to worry about overstretching and it shrinking back like regular tape will do. This insulating wrap seems to like to be, pulled nice and taunt, put on itself, it's a nice clean cover. You don't have to worry about that contacting anything, shorting out, hitting anything, vibration resistant, scratch resistant, UV resistant. Perfect fix for anywhere there's tape, another great product offered by Loctite.
I saw the video. Thanks.
I'm not seeing the video. I got sound but not visual.
